: We did notice construction 5 minutes North from the Palace, across from the Playacar Shopping Center...seems like a great spot -- across from the small shopping center...construction for the Riu Playacar seemed to be coming along.... but the October opening for it that I keep hearing about seems rather optimistic.

Didn't get a chance to see its beach, though...
