Is this price too much?--Riu Palace in Jan., Help!!

So I was wondering if anyone can tell me how this price quote for airfare/hotel at the Riu Palace in January sounds (from Boston for a week): $1600 (+ $75 tax). I have never paid this much for a vacation before!! Would I be better waiting until Nov. and hope for a price drop, or should I book now?? Thanks so much for any help!!!
