We stayed at GCP over Thanksgiving (our first visit to Pacific side of Mexico after 5 visits to Cancun/Riveria Maya, 1 to Jamaica and 1 to Dom Republic).
GCP is a much smaller property than the AIs we have stayed at previously--not that that is bad. We particulary enjoyed no buffets. The pool area is small and loungers fill up quickly. The tents on the beach are taken quickly, as they are the only shade available.
The staff is outstanding. The rooms are typical and are kept very clean. We did opt for oceanfront. No mini-bar in room.
We would stay there again. Do not expect the beaches of the Mayan area or you will be disappointed. But the backdrop of the mountains is an interesting change.
