I am a strong swimmer and got pulled in and out a couple of times, skinned my knees real good and got dragged into a big rock. Get a snorkeling tour off a boat so they can put you directly in the water and get you out. I had a really good meal at the Giggling Marlin; there are other places there for good fresh seafood.
