But since this is pretty much a traveler's board, when I said "It wouldn't matter", I was speaking the the standpoint of a traveler. In other words, "If you are thinking about NOT visiting Cozumel because of the weather, then you need to correct your thinking because "it wouldn't matter" if a hurricane hit the island because the people are so industrious that they'd have it back in shape "before you could call your travel agent".

The idea is to keep tourists visiting the island, right?

I'm sorry if I conveyed the idea that residents wouldn't care or would be unaffected. Obviously that is not true.

Speaking as one who greatly admires the residents of Cozumel, elevating them above many of the residents of my own country (especially the politicians), I hope you know that I would never want to cause any offense.

: While I appreciate and and agree with your assesment of the people of Cozumel, I do have to tell you that to us that live in Cozumel, it would matter PLENTY, without having to ask anyone here, I can pretty much assure you that 100% of the people that live in Cozumel would much rather NOT have to rebuild again....
