Do you remember what they did not like about the resort? I just talk to a co-worker that just got back from the same deal and said the stayed at the Oasis in Cancun. He said they liked the hotel and beach but was dissapponted in the lack of palm trees. He also said he missed the "resort feel" as opposed to staying in a hotel.
: I know this isn't exactly the same but, my parents did the one through funjet for playa. We were able to narrow it down and figure out which hotel they were going to be at based on a little info that showed up about the hotel. For instance it was located in the Akumal area and it also listed the # of rooms the hotel had. They ended up at the Grand Oasis Riviera Maya. They got a great price but, didn't care for the hotel. I don't think they would do it again. It seems like they put you in the hotel that doesn't book fast. ie: not the popular ones. Maybe you can try to figure out which one they are sending you to in case you are able to change your reservations before you go.
